We own a controlling interest in a large multi-national franchise
(62 In North America and 81 in Europe and increasing monthly)
selling contemporary art, wood block prints and the countries of
the Asia Pacific Rim area prints, Chinese and Japanese woodblock
prints that are very popular as are pieces of calligraphy art,
paintings on handmade paper, Lithographs, calligraphy, antique
maps and prints and wall decorations, indigenous art (small indigenous
statues made of any material or masks) to interior decorators mainly
and many have been our clients for decades, although about 10% to
20% of our clientele are individuals or company investors in art for
the long term. We stock all forms of limited edition and original art
forms especially indigenous art. Oil paintings should not be pictures
but a style perhaps coping one of the master painters of the 20s, 30s,
40s and 50s style with a touch of innocence, modern art or graphic art
such as that of Keith Harding, George Braque, Richard Diebenkorn,
Jim Dine, Theo Van Doesburg, Oscar Dominguez, Arthur Dovel,
Fautrier Gunter Forg, Sam Francis, Helen Frankenthaler, Otto Freuddlich,
Alberto Gironella, Gottlieb etc and Andy Warhol. Mixed media art sells
exceptionally well. Art that looks like a photograph does not sell at all well.
We have a 11 day turnover which is unheard of in the art business and
would be interested to try some of your stable of artists' art on a 21 day
consignment basis. Basically you can set any price you want. Most of our
62 franchises are based in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles and other
major US cities, where interior decorators seldom have a budget and buy
had ridiculously high prices. Basically if it does not sell be the franchise
buys it for their own stock. What we are after is unusual wall hangings,
lithography signed and in limited numbers, calligraphy and indigenous
small statues and unusual items such as painted aborigine bark, collages
and mixed form art. Photography in either black or white should not be
smaller than 30cm x 20cm and signed. With all pieces of art sent to us
